Sean Singletary May Pick NBDL Over Virginia
Virginia's Sean Singletary doesn't have a high NBA draft stock right now. Most likely, he won't be drafted at all. However, since he has yet to hire an agent ... he can still decide to go back to UVa by next Monday.
Still, he might not. According to the Daily Progress, Singletary may stay in the draft even though he may not be drafted.
Originally, it was believed that the Philadelphia native, who is currently projected as a second-round pick, would only go to the NBA if he was guaranteed of being chosen in the first round. That, the source said, is no longer the case. "He wouldn't mind not being drafted at all," the source said. "Then he would be a free agent and could pick the best situation."
One reason is the talent pool at point guard. It isn't deep this year and he could end up sticking with a team in the right situation. If he goes back to Virginia, his stock won't get much higher ... especially since next year's draft could be loaded at the point guard spot with OL Mayo, Derrick Rose, Darren Collison, Tywon Lawson and some foreign guards possibly entering the draft. Singletary may rather take his chances this year, get selected in the second round [or not at all] and play in the NBDL to earn a roster spot.
