Tigers Defeat Texas A&M, Advance To The Elite 8
Memphis defeats Texas A&M, 65-64 thanks to two clutch free-throws from Antonio Anderson with 3.1 seconds left in the game.
Chris Douglas-Roberts, who sprained his left ankle in the Tigers second round game against Nevada, got the start and finished with 15 points. The Tigers were paced with 19 points from Jeremy Hunt off the bench.
The game featured 19 lead changes and 13 ties as the Tigers shot 42.6 percent from the field.
The Tigers appeared to be in trouble early, with Robert Dozier picking up two fouls early in the game and Joey Dorsey fouling out late in the fourth.
Anderson was 1-4 from the free throw line before being fouled by Donald Sloan on a putback attempt with the Tigers down 64-63. He calmly sank two free throws to give the Tigers the go-ahead point. Aggies' Dominique Kirk took the final shot of the game, which up came up short for Texas A&M.
The Tigers will face now face Ohio State Saturday. The Buckeyes defeated Tennessee, 85-84.
