Noel And May Sponsor Celebrity Golf Tournament

Former University of North Carolina men's basketball players Sean May and David Noel have teamed with former North Carolina Central University hoopster LeVelle Moton and will host a charity golf event next month. The Moton Noel May Celebrity Golf Classic will tee off on Aug. 22 at The Preserve at Jordan Lake golf club in Chapel Hill.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. with golf (shotgun start) commencing at 9:00. Lunch and awards will follow. The cost is $100 for individuals and $400 for teams.

Proceeds will go to the Moton Noel May Foundation, benefiting NCCU scholarship funds, the Boys and Girls Club of Wake County, the Sean May Foundation and the David Noel Foundation.

The Moton Noel May Foundation provides support to community-based organizations that promote education, health and social skills for children and adults in at-risk situations. The trio was inspired to start the foundation because they wanted to give back to under-served communities and support issues of purpose. The foundation's motto is "God has placed us in a situation where we all have the opportunity to serve and help others, and at the end of the day, that is our primary purpose in life!"
