Tar Heels top Gauchos

Tyler Hansbrough scored 21 points to lead top-ranked North Carolina to blowout victory over UC Santa Barbara.

Bounced back from a lackluster performance by dominating UC Santa Barbara 105-70 on Saturday.

Marcus Ginyard added a career-high 17 points, Wayne Ellington also had 17 and Tywon Lawson finished with 15 in the 105-70 victory. The Tar Heels improved to 11-and-0 this season. They are off to their best start since the 1997-98 team won its first 17 games.

North Carolina coach Roy Williams was --NOT-- happy with his club's previous performance, a 10-point victory against Nicholls State. Williams vowed to run the Tar Heels hard at practice.

Williams' methods apparently worked. North Carolina forced 17 turnovers and reguarly generated easy baskets.
UC Santa Barbara fell to 10-and-two.
